Major Ethiopian Orthodox Spiritual Sites

1. Church of Saint George (Bete Giyorgis) – Lalibela
Part of the famous rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, this is one of the most iconic pilgrimage sites in Ethiopia. The churches were carved from rock in the 12th–13th centuries during the reign of Gebre Mesqel Lalibela.

2. Lalibela
